India currently has around 12 million blind people against 39 million globally, which makes India home to one third of the World’s blind population. What’s worse, 80% of these cases are of avoidable blindness. Untreated cataract accounts for 40% to 80% of all cases of blindness in India. The acute shortage of ophthalmologist and lack of access to quality eye care in rural areas, are the major causes of blindness. We at “Dev Eye Foundation” perform cataract surgeries by Phaco Emulsification Technique (PHACO), with foldable IOL and no needle anesthesia.

“Gift a Sight” is one of our program initiative where we encourage people to donate a small amount of Rs 5000/ per cataract surgery (including the cost of medicine, consumables, IOL, spectacles, IOL, surgeon, bed charges etc) and help a person gain his/her vision. We are not charging a single rupee from the sponsored camp patient. Also the details of the beneficiary patient are provided to the Donor, with attached copy of Aadhar, photograph, copy of BPL card, bank statement, discharge summary, or any other relevant document. We also request the donor to visit our Centre to meet the patients (before or after the surgery).

By supporting this program, you enable a person to see the colors of life through his/her eyes.
